Does anyone here remember the old Poring stuffed toy that Level-up bundled with top-up cards before? I think at one point they even sold it at around 200-250 pesos. To those who weren’t able to get one, it’s basically a cotton based poring that was really more of a promo in terms of quality. I’ve been thinking of re-making the poring doll and making it more modern and more in tune with the current consumer needs and wants. If you think about it, the timing is kinda good! We’re launching RO2 soon so not only is this a great way to promote RO, we’re also doing hype for RO2 when it comes out later this year. I was able to pull some strings with my friends from China and they were able to do proto types for free. Here’s the picture of the next “Poring” for RO2 – the Pukui!
By the way, before we check the pictures of the stuffed toys, I’d like to share with everyone the material we’re going to use. Do you know the stuffed toys with the small little beans in them? Kinda like the beanie bag? I’m sure that you’ve seen some of those, especially in the malls. We’re doing away with the old dusty poring that’s kinda hard with all the weird cotton inside. This time we’re going for a more soft and almost spandex like stuffed toy filled with cotton beads inside. We’re going to set-up a Focused Group Discussion this Friday and I’ll actually be able to show the real dolls to the players who go. Take note that these are JUST PROTO TYPES. We’re still going to make comments and suggestions on how to make them look better. This ain’t final and there’s a good chance that when the dolls actually come out, they’ll be way cuter and er… cuddlier, LOL. Anyway, without further delay – RO2’s Pukui!

If you’re going to make new Poring dolls, please don’t use wire to make the tail thingy. I think it’s dangerous and might hurt someone’s eye. Try using sponge or hard foam or something else.

you mentioned TINY BEADS? i have a *MOGU* DOLL and its SUPER CUDDLY AND HUGGABLE! MOGU dolls are “WITCH-DOLL~like” kasi korteng witch doll sha. if you have the time~ visit a “SLEEPCARE” shop or some shop na may pillows. THEY have it ^_^ meron sa GLORIETTA sa may foodCourt. and sa PROMENADE sa may cinemas. ^_^
i have the black one called COURAGE. you should check it out. or first VISIT a mogu site by searching for it on the internet ^_^

The Pukui is very cute (for a proto-type). (¤’__’¤) Well, I have this blue Poring doll (Marin?)… I think, its much better if the material used is cotton (like the poring doll) than the beads which I dont like it’s texture at all. X__X

Question lang po, uhm, given that LUG is looking into releasing/merchandising stuff seriously this time, does this mean na yung mga homemade stuff players make and sell during Level Up Live events will no longer be allowed?
Second, sana tuloy pa rin yung pa-contest nyo on Best Headgear, huhuhu, sayang yung Galapago Hat na I made last year…
Lastly, as for other monsters na ginawang stuff toys, I remember the booth A.E.G.I.S did two years ago (they won Best Booth that year). It was a tent tapos sa loob they had lots of prototype stuff toys like Bapho Jr. (UBER CUTE!), fabre, lunatic, spore, rocker (ata), chonchon and osiris. I wonder what happened to them.

cute ung mga stuffed toys and i love collecting one. pero gaya nga ng sabi ng iba, ACTION po muna sa PRO1. how can you be so sure na magiging successful ang PRO2 kung palpak ang PRO1? ang dami nang nagquit dahil sa magulong mundo ng Freya. sorry to say sa ibang ka-merge nmn pero nung solo pa ang iris, wala kaming problema. walang dupe, prices may range high pero kahat authentic. nung dumating ang merge, biglang sumabog ang problem with the dupe thingy. where did it came from? dami nagsasabi Lydia ang may pinakamadaming dupe items sa buong PRO1.
anyway, sana beads ang gamitin sa mga dolls na yan para malambot. pero sana ung pinaka tela nya eh matibay. not like ung sa SM na aso na ang daling mabutas.

I think para maiba naman plastic toys or action figure ng mga bagong character ng RO2 para mas masaya! I think that would be an even bigger hit than the PUKUI dolls. : ).
