Gaming: Ragnaboards/MP Meeting Resolutions
Friday evening was a fully booked for the pRO Team. We had a dinner meeting first with the Ragnaboard Moderators and the Midgard Police. The meeting was very casual, but there was a lot of insights and proposals on how to make the program better. For the MP, the problem was that their reports sometimes hit a bottleneck with the GM Team especially right now since the GM Team is handling more than 2000 tickets due to the wipe compensation and the rebirth bug. The resolution was actually very simple - MP’s will be submitting reports using FRAPS and other video capturing software when they catch bots in Thor. This way the GM Team will just have to take a few seconds to verify the report and apply the appropriate sanction.
For the Ragnaboards we’ve assigned the new RO Community Manager - Cassiel, to be the main administrator. You’ll see more of her in the forums in the days to come. She will be working closely with the forum moderators to come up with new RB policies. There will also be a review of the current line-up of moderators. I have a feeling though that most of them will be retained but we will have to talk to some of them on their posting mannerisms. I agree with one of the people who left a comment in the other post saying that moderators shouldn’t be calling people “human trash”. That’s a bit too harsh and while it pays to be strict, there’s no sense in cussing out your customers. Regarding the new skin of the Ragnaboards, we’re having a new one made with the Rachel episode as the main theme. Hopefully it will be finished soon so we can apply it asap. The default invision skin is really boring. @_@
After the meeting with the moderators and the MP, we went on to the shop where the RWC PH Team practices. That’s for another post though. Hope you guys are having a good weekend!

Nice work naman.

@wauks
para sa akin ang matinong kausap na mod sa boards is mod kamesh kasi sa lahat ng nilapitan ko ng tulong sya lang sumagot ng maayos…. and also si GM anael…

Sadly #1 post is right, botters that stop botting won’t be upprehended no more. The deal
is they won’t be caught anymore. So it’s okay for them to pretend good samaritans cause they want to increase the number of players again in Thor since they already have that much exp/items/equips/zeny that satisfied them by helping on banning the other players in terms of submitting suspicious fellow bots or their own bots farmers. Thorians would be happy if ever the previous botters would be banned if that’s possible if it is.
In the end, they already used up their bots or managed to bot their main accounts and get away with the perfect crime.
But with this latest development It might be too late from my point of view. However, if several Thorians (old/new/fed up with their server) would play in Thor after getting rid of the current bots ( previous botters like post#1 said are safe from this problem )then that’s good.

yeah how about the boters who already transcended and got their guild the o so popular ECALL???
wala bang retribution against those who murdered thor?
July 1st, 2007 at 4:15 pm
and add ko lang. dapat everyday may ma ban…. atleast for starters…
wak nyo hayaan matambak ang videos….
1 hour per day ok na un sa videos eh…
sana talaga i trace nyo mga harvesters to their owners……

We have enough evidences yet LU seems to look the other way around. If that’s the case then we’ve got no choice except to do the necessary action. Retire from Ragnarok until they’ve done their part of the bargain.

So all in all, ang matitira na lang sa server is yung talagang LOYAL at UMAASA pa sa Thor…

Gusto nila sa kanila kanila yung riches, power, and glory. If they want that, they can have it.
But would LU want cheaters in the game?

Re: RB Policy Update
I hope that you guys consider allowing the discussion of Non-LU! MMOs in The Lounge.

So mods calling players “human trash” is going over the line, how about players calling other players “immoral”. I’ve called other players “immoral” lots of times in the ‘boards.
Sometimes “human trash” is exactly what those other posters are.

Good thing you noticed the comment regarding “that” moderator. Many people complained about that one but just could not express easily. Most were too soft to get on “its” way. For those who opposed “it” were insulted so much they did not bother noticing “it”.

Gamers, Its time to move on and not cry over spilled milk. We need real and drastic solutions.
Waukeen, if you can come up with a new platform on how to restore thor’s integrity please let us know but right now I want to suggest something.
Objective: Give back the balance of power will go to “LEGIT PLAYERS”
Possible Solution:
I believe there is still hope for thor. My proposal is to
first:
Give MODIFIED EXP in Guild Dungeons or specific maps. and Let Midgard Police Monitor these maps. have the passage encripted as well.
Addition: (Optional) Extremely , turn off the EXP and loots of other maps to flush them out.
This way: We restor the balance by giving legit players the upper hand. We also limit the maps the midgard police has to monitor. When it comes to hunting necessary items (Theres hypermart of course)
How about that?

I proposed this because we have to make it “NOT” practical or feasible for botters to bot in thor.
Take out their reasons for botting: Resources, EXPerience.

@masterzen
You got a point there ang tanong is papansinin kaya?
Follow up rebirth bug ticket number OI2F2 thank you at mabuhay!

Oh, you mean this?

Snippet:
Pardon him for not being fluent in English. What he meant to say was that the new server is FREE to PLAY, but is limited in some ways. For example, some cards like creamy won’t drop, and you will only gain half experience from monsters. These can be bought from the NPC Cash Seller though, using real money.
July 2nd, 2007 at 4:18 am
@kaliwanagan
a bot running 24/7 with half exp rate would still have the edge against a legit player.
@Wauks , nathan
“Lugihin dapat mga botter nayan” my point is.
By disabling every map’s exp and drop rate and Granting/Activating Modified EXPs to specific ones which the Midgard Police can monitor, botters will find it USELESS IMPRACTICAL RISKY to run their accounts and at the same time Legit players will have every reason to come back and play again.
RESULT:
BOTTING = NO GAIN/DISADVANTAGE
LEGIT PLAY = HUGE GAIN/ADVANTAGE
Currently Thor has also 10 Midgard Police. I say 1-3 Police for every Guild dungeon should be workable. Why Choose Guild dungeons? since theyre PK ready. And if you must must Disable Creamy card inside (like Geffenia).
Grant Midgard Police 150dex. Warp skill instant cast.
These are just ideas and im sorry if its turning too extreme.
I also like a Thor CURFEW. no playing after lets say 2AM-9AM during weekdays. What do you think? This is just to make thor bots even more disadvantageous.

Mod exp in dungeons?
July 3rd, 2007 at 9:32 pm
the default invision skin for RB maybe boring, but it definitely loads fast. personally, i prefer a fast loading time than aesthetics.

Goenitz is fond of calling people “trash”

I would like to ask: Does the MPs have a common systemic way on catching bots? Currently one of my guildmate and friend online is held up in Odin’s Shrine who claims that the MP who thought he was a bot “did not even talked” to him or verified if he is a bot or not. What the MP did was only teleport him twice then sent him agad sa jail. Which, for some of us Valahallians - this kind of act is very alarming. It is like we can see a Martial Law on the horizon. Please do reply sir Wauks about this issue. Please do attend to this matter.
