Gaming Job Opportunities (PDI - Aug 26)
A few months ago I posted some gaming-related job opportunities outside of Level-up Games. There was actually a piloting job that people can take for games like World of Warcraft. Sadly, this company closed already (Game Pal) and from the feedback I got from some of the readers of this blog, that company was really heading down. Anyway, I was reading today’s newspaper when I stumbled upon a cool ad in the job recruitment section of the Philippine Daily Inquirerer. More job opportunities for gamers!

Hopefully this won’t be a company like Game Pal. More details after the jump.
First, I’d like to point out that they’re looking for console gamers, not necessarily online gamers. This is probably a call center for the Wii or XBOX 360 so it would be better if you had actually played on those consoles if you’re thinking of applying. I was able to talk to a friend who’s working for something similar and he tells me that the pay is just like your normal call center - which is already high if you’re going to compare it to other industries, especially if we will factor in the night differential and all the crazy bonuses a call center gives.
So, if you’re not busy these days and you want to start a career, then you might as well apply. They’ll be having job expo’s and I think you can also e-mail your resume and application directly. Since BPO companies are really hungry for talent, they’ll probably give you a call in less than a week. Good luck to everyone who’s thinking of applying!

II Alkeizer - Uhm, GamePal closed kasi nalugi daw.
II Wauks - NCO is a call center near ABS/Quezon Ave MRT Station. A good company plus maganda ang compensation. Free meals ang employees dyan. Hehe.

Just look “RMH” up for contact info.
It may be a cool temporary job, but it doesn’t translate to a good career.

I used to work for NCO/RMH as a TS for MSN (and I found out in the forums that HiJakk worked there as well). I badly wanted to transfer to the XBOX acct as a pioneer TS for XBOX Live but there was a shortage of agents on our div that’s why we were not allowed to transfer… :( siguro kung napayagan ako I’ll still be there playing Halo while waiting for calls!!! >_

Well, NCO’s got a lot of dispute issues when it comes to compensation. I really can’t say they give what’s properly due to most of their employees. Not everyone gets paid properly. I don’t know about the other departments, but that’s how it is at XBOX.
Try reading the thread at Pinoy Exchange too.
