Episode 11.2: Veins Additional MVP Skills
Philippine Ragnarok Online’s latest episode, 11.2: Veins, is literally just around the corner! We’re aiming the launch the new patch in the first two weeks of February. I’m not 100% sure yet if the commercial servers will get it first and then the F2P servers will get it the following week. Anyway, I’ve already discussed before the new MVP Skills like Earthquake. In fact, you can check out another post of mine which has screenshots of Ifrit ripping up Sakray’s Prontera City. For today, I’d like to delve into the other skills that the MVP’s got. These are mostly area-effect skills that will make life hellish for MVP Hunters.

NEW MVP SKILLS PARTIAL LIST
Acid Breath
Type: Area-of-Effect Physical Attack
Max Level: 10
Max Range: 9 Cells
Target: Single Opponent
Description: A physical poison elemental attack that deals damage to all targets in a path towards in an area of 9×14 cells. Has a 70% chance to cause poison to all targets struck.Anti-Magic
Type: Defensive Magical Skill
Max Level: 5
Target: Self
Description: For 30 seconds, the caster sacrifices part of his physical defence for magical defence.Area Bleeding
Type: Multi-Target Status Attack
Max Level: 5
Target: Self
A wide area effect that inflicts players in range with bleeding status ailment. Looks like three slash marks that cut across the screen.Area Status Effect Skills
Type: Multi-Target Status Attack
Max Level: 5
Target: Self
A wide area effect that inflicts players in range with one of the following status ailments: Confuse, Curse, Freeze, Petrify, Silence, Sleep, Stun, and Blind. Status varies per MVP Boss Monster.Critical Wounds
Type: Single-Target Physical Attack
Max Level: 5
Max Range: 7 Cells
Target: Target
Description: A physical melee attack that, if it connects with the target has a chance to cause the critical wounds status ailment. Critical Wounds lowers the effectiveness of all healing, including the heal skill, sanctuary, potion pitcher, and usable recovery items (with the exception of those that recover a % of your HP). Critical Wounds lasts 30 seconds regardless of the level.Darkness Breath
Type: Area-of-Effect Physical Attack
Max Level: 10
Max Range: 9 Cells
Target: Single Opponent
Description: A physical dark elemental attack that deals damage to all targets in a path towards in an area of 9×14 cells.Dragon Fear
Type: Multi-Target Status Attack
Max Level: 5
Target: Self
A wide area effect that inflicts players in range with a single random status, either Stun, Curse, Silence, and Bleeding. Looks like several fast expanding spheres.Evil Land
Type: Dark Element Magical Ground Spell
Max Level: 10
Target: Ground
Description: What looks like an unholy version of the priest’s skill sanctuary, Evil Land covers a 11 x 11 area with an effect that heals demons and undead and deals dark elemental damage to demi-human targets every second and blinds them by chance. Unlike sanctuary, there is no knockback effect.Exile
Type: Single Target Teleportation Skill
Max Level: 1
Max Range: 7 Cells
Target: Single Opponent
Description: Also referred to as Expulsion or Banishment. When cast it forces the player to teleport to a random location on the map as if he had used teleport himself. Has a visual effect that is similar to the skill snatch.
Note that this is just a partial list. There are more skills and I’ll be posting them in the coming days.
At a glance, the most annoying skill here would probably be Exile, especially if the MVP were to target your party’s tank. This really changes the strategy in MVP’ing since you’ll now need more than one tank to handle the MVP. The area effect status ailments will also be a huge pain since you can’t really defend against all the status ailments. Priests will have to do more than just buff and heal. They’ll need to be quick with their status recovery.

mas makulit mga sinX ngayon dahil rin sa mga bagong katars - yung iba nag auautocast rin ng bagong status disablers(e.g. slow cast, critical wounds…) :)

speaking of MVP monsters. sir wauks kelan nyo apply ung fix sa delay ng mvp monsters. as of now ang laki pa din ng delay ive read sa blog ni doddler that the max should be just 10 mins late ang monster e satin indi e. sabi din nya na jro had the problem pro nabigay na sakanila ung fix. satin ba kelan ibigay ung fix?

Hmm powerful skills but can’t do anything about it.

Thank you for suggesting (hope so) my idea regarding anti-bot to Gravity.
But how about the monthly dupe wipeout on all servers specially (Tyr, Valkyrie, and Valhalla)? Can you give me your opinion regarding that idea.
And if you happen to see this post before 2pm today.
There’s no reason for the emergency maintenance today at 2pm since
it would provoke only dupers to duplicate items and worst of all it is announced at RagnaBoards. Hope they move the removal of the 2 MVP cards on wednesday Jan 16,2008 maintenance period instead.

Now the duping have happened in Valkyrie and Valhalla just several minutes ago.
Signs of duping
1.Announced emergency maintenance.
2.White screen, down of some maps like Prontera and Louyang. It also happened last time when Geffen and Morroc broken a few weeks ago.
3.Auction Hall is down.
Hope this would be dealt with at once and not taken lightly cause we are talking about f2p servers here. Fixing of the broken maps is not that priority for now. Hope there would be dupe wipeout by wednesday so innocent players will be aware.
This is far worst situation than botting. It is just disappointing the same thing is happening all over again please help out thank you.

kaya nga inde na ako lumipat valhala or valkyrietot… same thing will happen again dupe dupe dupe… kasi kikita sila e wala zenny tao dito they will sell it or use it for their guild… hmmmm pede kaya nila i dupe FMB??? or Enriched elu… hala!!!!!
Memories.. yep I aggree this is the worst…
