Emmerich Files 002 - Sharp Shooting Sniper
Hunters used to fill up parties during the early WoE days. From time to time I would get ganged up by 5 or more hunters, locked down by their insane attack speed. Double strafe was a killer skill that players hated back then because it dealt a lot of damage from a distance. Then the trapper build came about, stacking traps and pushing them to unsuspecting players/monsters; using their falcon from time to time to deal additional damage. Hunters/Snipers are a rare sight these days. Those who still play this class are the ones who are either really good with this job or just really love them.
The stats (Job 70 Sniper, Naked character):
STR: 22+4
AGI: 46+17
VIT: 47+3
INT: 31+5
DEX: 99+38
LUK: 52+8
Compulsory Items:
Sharp Arrow/Incisive Arrow
This build specializes on the use of the sharp shooting skill. 60 LUK greatly increases the chance to bypass defense especially with sharp arrow equipped (50% avg. with sharp arrow, 35-40% chance without). Just use elemental scrolls or have a scholar tag along to compensate for the lack of an elemental arrow.
Significance in WoE
A well placed SS sniper can cripple any offensive force coming from the portal/emergency call. Useful when in tandem with status-grimtooth. Can be quite difficult as an offensive character, unless you are good in sneaking towards the wizard line; 1-2 shots on the wizard line can be lethal sometimes with fire endow. Take note that you deal less damage on targets beyond 12 cells.
Significance in PvP
Unless you have a party of bored guys willing to fall in line for you, stay out. You will most likely be killed by a cloaked SinX since you lack flee with this build.
Significance in your adventures
Magma dungeon can be quite a treat with this build. A vadon carded weapon paired with crystal/sharp arrows can make this dungeon fun to level on, especially on those narrow bridges. Just have a tanker with you for mobbing. Turtle island is also a good spot for this build, although the different elements of each turtle can be annoying. When wandering around the new dungeons, just remember that you don’t have that much flee with this, so always have someone with you.

You could count the +5 to all stats of true sight and decrease 5 luck that way you could save on stat points ^_^

Elissa, paki re-size naman yung pic para hindi sumabog yung format.
Anyway, matagal na ako nag-hahanap ng build for a sniper. Pero each time I ask people for their reco’s lahat ng sinasabi nila sakin eh - bulok ang sniper, mag LK, SinX, or biochemist ka na lang.

I think the problem with snipers is that ever since traps affected both friend and foe, snipers lost their team dynamics. Fortunately, they still have their saving grace: arrow shower and wind walk. Unfortunately, a clown/gypsy can also do the some of these functions :(

That build looks familiar - I wonder why . . .
(Of course, I built my sniper for PvM, so 1 vit, 1 str, and higher int, but same idea.)
One thing I can say about that build - You’ll probably be stuck in stings - seeing that parties are non-existent in pRO . . . or I haven’t found any.
But yeah, SS was fun back in the day - Scholar + Sniper + HP in TI3 was really good.

I’m with you there man. Dati sa old school siege, hunters were crucial in defense because the traps only applied to opponents.

long ago before juno pa, hunters were so powerful pag woe. i don’t know why pero i think wala atang nerf damage nila dati (and im not sure kung meron nga bang nerf ung damage nila ngaun). that pushed me to make a hunter but eventually dinelete ko rin sa main account ko and made one instead sa aking CHXI account /gg.
pero ngaun kumonte ang hunters/snipers and i only see DS and trapper snipers. rarely do i see sharpshooters and falcon assaulters… kasi nga naman DS walang delay
hanggang ngaun 95 parin hunter ko. tagal nang 95 un d ko na napalvl kasi nahihirapan na ako kahit sa mga geographers. cguro pag nagka x3 or x5 ganahan ako.

wala nga kasing delat DS. kung walang delay ibang skills dami rin cguro snipers ngayon.
gumawa rin ako ng hunter dati, kaso I ended up deleting it and making a bard as a replacement. mas useful kasi ang bard ngayun sa WoE. Rokis ka lang sa portal with a devo paladin. or bragi’s poem sa wiz line. ngayun kasi ang killers ay mga sinx. lalo na kapag nachepuhan mong naka-EDP siya
dami rin akong guildmates na nagpalit na ng jobs.

either full damage or yung traps ay pang kalaban lang. :)

Hehehe astig siguro pag yung traps for opponents only ulit. Matanong nga Gravity is possible ma-implement ulit yung feature na yun.
