David Cook Wins American Idol 7
This season of American Idol turned out to be one of the best ever produced. I was really hesitant to watch this season because of how bad the previous two were. I really still cannot understand why Taylor Hicks won and how bad the talent pool was for season 6. Anyway, this season turned out to be an insane one since everyone in the top 12 were really good! Well… not all, but most! Especially the last two contestants - David Cook and David Archuleta.
I was really rooting for David Cook so I was really happy when I found out that he won the contest. I personally believe that he’s really talented, original, and very versatile as a singer and as a performer. He is the only American Idol contestant that I’ve downloaded all of his songs and put them in my iPod. My personal favorite is his rendition of Mariah Carey’s “Always Be My Baby”.

David cook was DA BOMB last night!!! Michael Johns, Carly Smithson, Jason Castro, and David Cook are my top Fav! No offence to David Archuleta but he sounded mono all the time and had a hard time hitting high notes. For once they got the american Idol correct and 1st seasons Kelly Clarkson. Poor Clay Aiken came in 2nd he’s better then Ruben. Everyone else, you said it bad talent bad picks bad votes. Anyways to wrap this up, I’m going to see them live on their tour in a few months! Weeeee- Since i’ll be visiting family members durning that time.
Can’t wait! Michael Johns, Carly Smithson, Jason Castro, and David Cook 4 ever!

the reason why Taylor Hicks won is because VoteForTheWorst supported him all the way! It should have been Elliot Yamin! hehe
I got all songs of David archuleta, Ramiele malubay and michael johns in my iPod.. the only songs of David cook i had in my iPod are Billie Jeans and Always be my baby. i didn’t bother to download any of the songs of Kristy Lee Cook and Chikizie

what? you all thought taylor hicks was bad? FYI, he was the best in season 5. He was never in the bottom 3 and, if im correct, he was only hated by simon, since the top 24 until the top 2, for only twice.

FYI, Taylor Hicks was the first American idol winner that was not able to sell a million records!

i say that the final 2 contestants are really REALLY good you knw..even simon gives a hands down to the 2 of them instead of only one of them..so i think both of them are already winners of idol ^_^

Taylor was dropped from his Label last january
Taylor’s 1st album has sold only 699k records
previous idols like kelly clarkson, ruben, fantasia and carrie have sold more than a million records
as of now jordin sparks has already sold more than 700k records and most likely it will reach a million before the end of the year!

David Archuleta will be releasing an album earlier than any of the previous American Idol 1st-runner up..
plus, There were rumors that people were already writing songs for David Archuleta, David Cook and Jason Castro earlier in the show (around march 2008 i think)..
and I recently heard from the news that the tickets for the tour on David A’s hometown has already been soldout in just 20MINUTES!

hey waukster! i liked jason castro’s hallelujah song. too bad he didn’t make it. eng-eng naman kasi lyrics sa tambourine man nakalimutan pa! too much nerves i guess. eniwey, my office mate says he thinks that david cook is gay. halata daw. :-)

No…Taylor wasn’t the best in season 5. It was Chris Daughtry (and speaking of Daughtry, he’ll be having a concert here in Eastwood City at July 29)
Facts: Carrie Underwood sold 6.4M records. Kelly Clarkson 5.9M and Chris Daughtry 4M+ :)
BTW, same opinion as Simon. Doesn’t matter who’ll win because they’ve both done great. Cookie is more experienced than Archie and he’s a more versatile singer. Cookie has a way of transforming songs that fits his style. Archie’s forte naman is pang ballad lang talaga. Example here when Archie sang Chris Brown’s With You eh para siyang kinakapos ng hininga. Hindi nya kaya mag R&B. Also, there’s news na bumaba ang 12-17 age viewers ng AI this season (Archie charms the teens) and tumaas naman sa 50+ of age yung mga nanonood. Another turn off here would probably be the issue about Archie’s dad.
Anyway, past idols na nakita ko eto ang pinakatalented na batch at ang may pinakamagandang finale so far, IMHO.
BTW, sino nakapansin ditu sa finale na pinagperform nila ng solo or yung may kasamang kilalang singer yung ibang AI (Jason, Syesha, Brooke, Carly and Michael, aside pa sa 2 finalists) pero yung iba hindi?? Haha
Anyway, sa 2 Davids malayo ang mararating ng dalawang yan. :)

Also.. David Cook’s winning song is the number one song in iTunes top 100 download. Last May 24 or 25, he took the number 1-4 spot (2-4 are the songs he performed during the duel). Hmm I think his other 2 songs are still in the top 10 downloads

yeah. dreadwings was right. Chris Daughtry was the best in season 5. I think he sold more records. I think he even inspired David Cook.
