hello.

We have smartbro and globe lines. on those two, Globe broadband sucks. smartbro 384kbps "999" is 5x faster than the globe 1mbps "999"

why is it like that? globe broadband sucks bigtime on speed

download speed on smartbro 384KBPS is 99k per sec while globe 1MBPS connection is making 22k per sec.

say no to globe

We are a company, and so a corporate PLDT DSL user. My concerns are two. First, their technical support is matagal dumating.
Last and the most serious issue is, when I try to upgrade to the current bracket that PLDT was providing. Example, our connection is BizDSL -SmallBiz Jr. with downstream speed of 768kpbs and upstream of 768kpbs, thats the CIR, this according to the service details in their billing statement. We pay for Php 10,080.00 monthly. But the actual speed will never exceed 300kpbs, I have only 10-20KBps as average with peak to 30KBps! (Note KB means Kilo Bytes, a single byte is 8 bits, so 30 x 8 = 240, that is, 240kbs at the maximum speed and rarely, very far away from the promised 768kbps!) This setup was done sometime in 2002. Now go forward 2009-2010. I called up the assigned manager on this account and often sending him a letter saying that I need to correct this discrepancy. The answer is nothing. So I called up 177 after many I've heard so many "call this #, call this #, call this #" from PLDT tech support. They said that the speed is normal, since I can never really reach the promised speed. Frustrated, I give up. What I wanted to know, why they put the CIR which means "Committed Information Rate" in which in reality they are not committed at all. So, I told them that I want to upgrade to the current offering, see here:
http://www.pldtdsl.com/smes.asp
That is, I want Enterprise package so that the company can save Php 2,000 per month. The reply was that I need to terminate the current subscription. But this is not acceptable, since we run our own mail server, and downtime is not an option. They said that if I want uptime I need to upgrade to Empire package. But that is 4000 more expensive! This is my rant.!

Wag ka na mag pldt. Grabe!!! In an hour siguro disconnected ng 20 times. Yang dc niyan would span from 5 seconds to 5 minutes. Sa iba ka na lang. Di pa ko nag try sa iba, nagbabasa pa ko sa mga forum kung ano ang maayos.

I am currently connected to Smart Broadband Plug it and as of now, im contented with my connection though sometimes, my connection goes on and off but normally, i do get a stable connection and so far, that fastest connection that I got was 250kbps on a torrent that I was downloading.. so far so good.. haven't tried applying for PLDT as most of my friends demote PLDT for the unsatisfactory connection that theyve got..

taga bulacan ako dati. i use globe wimax plan 995 1mbps

sabi nga ni rain eh napakataas ng latency!
ang hirap lalo na sa YM and online games. disconnected lagi.

raw speed ok naman. nothing more nothing less.

i'm currently subscribed to Globe Broadband that uses WiMAX. my only complaint with my ISP is that they have a high latency (cguro mga 170 ms on average) na nakakadelay ng connection ko. pero in raw speed naman, i always get their promising speed which is 1Mbps ( i had a 995 plan).

So thats my only problem -the latency. i decide to acquire a PLDT mydsl plan 999 for my connection. but based on your feedbacks , parang nadisapoint ako. the question is tuloy ko pa ba mga bros?

BTW, i lived in camarin caloocan.
