The latest manga issue of Bleach is definitely one of the more exciting reads in a while. In this issue, we finally see Primera Espada Stark in action against Shinigami Captain Kyoraku. What’s interesting here is the fact that we also haven’t seen Kyoraku in action since he was introduced in the series. I mean, the most we’ve seen him do is release his Zanpaktou when he was together with Ukitake against Yamamoto. Some thoughts on this issue after the break.
Synopsis
Immediately after revealing his gunslinging nature, Stark finds himself under heavy attack by Kyoraku. The shinigami captain wastes no time in attacking with his dual blades. However, Stark is able to avoid all of the attacks and fires his gun. Apparently, the guns he uses fires Cero blasts.
Kyoraku barely manages to avoid one of the shots. However it looks like he’s still not impressed with Stark, refusing to do his Bankai. Stark decides to step up the gas on his next attack, doing a multiple blast barrage of Ceros… which is just crazy.
Surprisingly, Ukitake steps in to make the save, countering Stark with what appears to be a Cero.
It’s interesting to see Uktiake join the fight since he was just babbling about honor in battle several issues ago. I’d like to see what he has to say for himself now that the battle is now 2-on-1. Maybe he realized how powerful Stark really is and he sees no chance for Kyoraku to survive one-on-one?
