I just watched and read the latest anime/manga releases for Bleach. I’m not sure if it’s a good thing that the anime is really catching up to the manga releases. If this pace continues we’ll probably have another filler arc for the series. Anyway, both releases veer away from Ichigo and Orihime. And you know what? I like it better that way. Ichigo is sooooooo boring already. Personally I find Bleach’s highlight to be the upcoming encounter between the Gotei 13 Captains and Aisen’s Espada.
Espada 3 – Halibel
Anyway, back to the manga. The writers have finally decided to focus on the battles of the captains and the Espada. The latest issue features the intense battle between Espada 3 Halibel versus Hitsugaya Toushiro. Halibel eventually releases her Zanpaktou, revealing her true form. She actually looks stunning but definitely deadly. Her gigantic sword reminds me of Nightmare from Soulcalibur.
To those who haven’t read the manga yet, I won’t spoil the ending for you. I strongly suggest you read it to see what happens at the end of the issue. It’s something that will really shock the hell out of you.
In the latest issue, we also see Barragan, Espada 2, take out his weapon. It’s a gigantic axe – something that you don’t see too often with Shinigami or Arrancar.
I have a feeling that all the captains will be pushed to their limit, and this sets us up for the comeback of the Vaizards who were exiled and shamed because of Aizen. When that part comes, I’m sure that a lot of the fans of Bleach that were disenchanted with all the weird story lines will come back to watch how everything will play out in the end.
