Baldur Siege Problems & Valkyrie Connectivity Monitoring

Sorry for not being able to do any updates yesterday. It was one hell of a day here at Level up and everyone was very busy working on all the issues that Ragnarok Online has been encountering. I’d like to set aside all the others issues in this blog except for the following: Baldur Siege Problems and Valkyrie Connectivty Monitoring.

VALKYRIE FIXED?
According to Gravity, they’ve done their part and that Philippine Ragnarok Online’s F2P Server, Valkyrie, is now “fixed”. I need your input on this guys before the Gravity staff leaves for South Korea again. Kindly monitor the server during the weekend and if ANY PROBLEM about connectivity or guild/party chat comes up, POST A COMMENT. If this issue is finally put behind us, then we can focus on more promotions and resolution of older problems like third party programs.

BALDUR SIEGE
Since Saturday, siege in Baldur Server has been plagued with technical problems. Some people even think that the Valkyrie issues migrated to Baldur since we’re seeing a lot of guild breaks, chat delays, and skill malfunctions during siege. I just want to let everyone know that Level up and Gravity are on top of the situation. I can’t give you 100% assurance that this will be fixed already on Saturday, all we can do now is to wait for them to fix it while I give you updates every now and then.

We’re looking at all angles with regards to the siege problem: bug exploit, external attacks, hardware malfunction, software issues, etc.

I’ll try to post again later this evening. ‘Till then, Wauks out.

    Baka may nagswap ng baldur n valkyrie server. kaya naayus sa valkyrie and sa baldur naman ang nasira. Imbes na gumaganda un exp lalo lang papangit ng papangit. 2k na lang tao sobrang lag pa. sana bgyan priority mga server na nagbabayad. dapat mga free 2 play d na pinapansin libre naman kc.


  6. OT. Ang tindi pa rin ng lag sa Valhalla during sieges. Hindi ka na halos makalakad. Nakaranas na ako ng 10 second lag. Ganoon din ang experience ng iba. Magfre-freeze ang screen for several seconds saka ka makakagalaw. Sumusugod kayo sa agit, biglang lag. Pagkawala ng lag, nag-iisa ka na lang at napapaligiran na ng mga kalaban. Even warpers can’t warp kase lag din sila.

  9. Yesterday I’ve just experienced a delay on the guild chat, this happened on the Valkyrie server. Please verify Mr. Wauks and thanks.

    sir ngaun lng po 6:30pm delay lumabas ang guild pati party tapos delay ang pm at chat sa guild.
    pero aus na log in kahit anong time ok xa ung sa delay lng po ngaun lng nag occur. VALKYRIE po

    Nakita ko po kayo kanina…. hiya lang ako lumapit hehehe… yung 2 interviews ko mukhang ok naman… last one na po next week na lang daw (inabot ng meetign kanina) …. Sir Wauks,,, kakawayan sana kita e kaso mukha naman akong ano non /heh!!!!
    ICT Desktop Engr pala po ako… sensya na sa email ko kugn makulit… waa tama nga hinala ko sa programming ako muntik ilagay kasi dapat inalis ko na programming skills duun sa resume e… pero ok na sa ICT na algn daw ulit…. ^_^ weee lvlup here I go… (sana hehehe)

    Walang naayos bumalik lang sa dati. Free 2 play na rin ang mga bot parang dati. Hindi na sila na d-DC, dami bugs. Yup dumali na nag pag log-in, means inalis lang yun pang DC sa mga bots. wala na ata pag-asa kahit taga-gravity na mismo gumawa???


  14. The log-in problems are gone, but the delay is present.

    Guild chat and guilds, not sure about the others. PMs are a bit delayed too, but not as much as the guilds. I guess 7K players are putting stress on the servers.

    Hindi lang po Baldur ang nageexperience ng super lag during siege hours… Valhalla is also experiencing ” “super lag” during siege hours. 5 to 10 seconds delay then respawn sa save point… dedz ka na kasi.

  17. Pm,guild chat and party invite are still a bit delayed. There’s 2-5 secs delay when I pm someone.

  21. @Pathfinder: Let’s test it on Saturday’s siege. Hopefully everything will go well. Guys, sorry if I’m not able to address other concerns at this time. Very busy with projects outside of work but I am forwarding your concerns to the Ragnarok Team.

  23. For me ok pa sa akin ang Valkyrie sa ngayon, the last time i checked i can character select with a breeze although there is some minor lag but i can deal with it. and i think you need more tweaking on your systems para maging stable na lahat ang mga servers f2p’s and p2p’s .. tnx wauks


  24. Wauks the siege problem is one priority problem that you really need to fix. Some, if not most people log on just to enjoy siege, and is a key feature that keeps pRO afloat.

    A very good morning to you!
    Before I report any issues found, I’d like to say the log-in issue has greatly improved.
    I only experienced 1 or 2 unexpected disconnections during character selection, nothing a reconnection couldn’t solve. The overall experience wasn’t so traumatic as of the previous weeks.

    I’d like to report that after entering the portal to the left of geffen, my character froze. I reconnected but to no avail.
    That part of the map might be down. My other characters seemed ok. Kindly check. This was as of 5:00 this morning. Took me a while to report since i’m at the office right now.


  27. Sire, there was an issue on geffen field and it was a bit irritating na…

    I know that there a lot of bots in that field going to GH and I’m really glad that LUG is doing their part in fixing the bot problem in Valkyrie. But the thing is, some priest started casting warp portals on town spawning points (prontera for example) leading to that same map.

    My priest was a victim of this because I was off to GH and that was the only way. I understood your move so instead of complaining, I just laughed it off and made a merchant instead. Now in the midst of journey while warping towards the town of Izlude, crazy priests started casting warp portals on the spawning point of Prontera.

    I am really glad about LUG monitoring a notorious botting map but please do something about the people who are using this instance to their own amusement. I know you never really cared much about rants in this webpage but I just wanted to express myself even if it will not be heeded.

    Pero In fairness chief, server connectivity was a breeze and I haven’t had a single problem in logging into the world (except for my situation now that is…) and am really thankful for that and I know the rest of the community is. I just wish that trapped characters like mine will soon be released from the confines of geffen field.

    Pwede ko pong maipa-verify kung ano talaga ang drop rate sa Valhalla? Kasi mukhang sobrang baba ng drop rate, mas mababa pa kesa drop rate ng Valkyrie. I thought kasi yung settings nya same sa Thor na 1.5x EXP and 1x Drop Rate. Pero notice ko lang sobrang baba ng drop rate kahit jellopy hindi na nga sure drop. T_T

  42. Valkyrie problems as of today:
    1) Guild Delay
    2) Maps Down (mostly isolated to the Geffen Area)
    3) Frequent disconnection upon warping

    Wag nyo muna bigay plane tickets ng mga koreans na yan XD

    On the brighter note, madali na mag log in :)

    Valkyrie Server is “NOT” yet fixed.. why?

    1. Always Disconnected

    2. Some of the maps are still bugged/ Delayed
    want an example? Check Guild Dungeons and Biolaboratory at Lighthalzen..

    3. Bugged Parties and Guild

    Well lets just say that Major tows are fixed..

    As a Consumer/Player, We are NOT yet satified..

    Its better to have a hard time log in than to have an easy but delayed party.. Peace!

  47. The log-in issues in Valkyrie, which were the worst problems for the past weeks, has greatly improved, as others have said. The next problem to give attention to, in my view, is the chat delay. Although the problem now isn’t as bad as it was before(one minute chat delay), it proves to be just as fatal especially when people are WoEing. Please address this problem as this will surely get on everyone’s nerves. Aside from that, I noticed that I could not log in my priest character. I walked around in Payon and noticed that I wasn’t the only one with the same problem. Please attend to these down maps ASAP as they’re one helluva nuisance. Hope everything works out fine. DON’T let the GRAVITY team even THINK about flying back home.

  49. The Gravity Programmers said they had fixed Valkyrie but I think what they had done was bring back Valkyrie’s old problem. Easy Login but Pm, Guild Chat, Party Chat, Party Invite and Mailbox are delayed.


  50. OT bakit pag nag rereport aq about dupe sa freya server ! wala reaction ang CS? may screenshot naman aq ng mga suspects at may posibilities na may dupe items. kala q ba investigate nila?

  52. Sir Wauks, seriously, please try to fix not only the siege bugs, but the overall siege LAG. It’s not RPC season yet, and still people keep on disconnecting in certain maps, especially after Emergency Call.

    The game’s not fun if the players CAN’T MOVE.


  53. sir wauks..sorry kung mejo off topic pero grabe na situation eh..my account has been down for like 5 days now. every time i connect kasi a message pops up saying that im already connected to another server. Cust care seems to be doing nothing about it, note ive file like 4 tickets already and made 10 phone calls following it up… could you please , if possible talk to them for me? ticket is 4X3PJ. >_<

  55. valkyrie has improved a bit, but there’s still the delay problem in major town like prontera, another thing is that everything starts to crash again during WoE time, frequent DC’s, chat/party delay, mostly irritating cause you cant defend well due to the frequent disconnections. but then, after the WoE has ended, after a few minutes everything goes back to normal.

    We (Baldurians) are hoping na maging maayos na ulit ang Baldur as soon as possible.

    Guild vs. Guild , Pvp and Sieges nalang nga kami active eh. Nagloload kami para maenjoy namin yang mga yan, sana maayos na po to.

    Kasi kung hindi, baka mag quit nlng kami hehehe. lolx.

    Pero we’re hoping for your cooperation, sana masabihan nio na po ang LUG regarding this issue.

  58. meron nga ba talagang nag ayos ng valk na koreans? parang wala man eh.. wala man lng picture, kung nde nyo maayos ayos RO1 mabuti pang wag nyo n ituloy RO2 kc wala din maglalaro nun kung lagi n lng ganyan, puro lng salita wala naman ginagawa

  61. Valky maps down! valky server very laggy..login its the only one that seems ok. so the gameplay is now the problem..baldur has some lag problems too after testing it nw..hmm, could dis be related to pldt’s intermitent connection problems? or it is also bec. of bots coming in to the server?

  63. The login is fixed. No matter the player count, it’s easy to login.

    Party &Guild delays and PM delays are apparent at 7k players and up but is solved by simply switching maps.

  68. We in Valkyrie (and I know they are…) are already happy with the connectivity issues. Thing is, its like half of our problems are already solved. Now Atleast we are finally seeing some improvements so lets just try to extend patience na lang…

    IMHO, hindi lang naman po Valkyrie ang inaayos dito eh, i think they are looking at all the servers. And hindi rin masaya kung inaayus yung server ninyo… (Believe me, we had like, 4-6 Emergency Maintennance last week?!?!?) And they even cancelled a certain siege time.

    In short, hindi kami makapaglaro ng maayos kasi bigla na lang magddown yung server…

    I’m with you with the seige Bug guys, I sometimes go OL para makipag-kulitan sa mga guildmates ko tapos papasok ako ng game wala ako sa guild… (Or, hindi ko rin sila makausap kasi delayed ang mga messages…) Pero yun nga, things are shaping up even if it seems LUG is so slow in doing it…

    Sensya na po, this is just my 2 cents kasi I was supposed to look for Wauk’s reply here kung meron man updates and what I saw was a long string of rants… aku yung na stress ehh.. wakekekek…

  69. sir wauks, chat delays, the “there is no character that goes by that name” even though the person is online. frequent DC in sieges, mail bugs, sudden appearance of “_1″ in name.. hmmm… there.

    and oh, any updates on how to deny bots into the server? deal hack?

    thanks. we are expecting the best solution level up and gravity can give.


  70. Sira na valkyrie ulit? woot mukhang ayus na ang siege sa baldur mamaya. pls wag na ipagpalit ang server ng valkyrie n baldur. ang kay baldur ay kay baldur ang kay valkyrie kay valkyrie.

    Please don’t forget the “Other” servers. We at Valhalla are also encountering LAG problems during siege time. I just hope ALL servers are getting enough attention with regards to this problem, not only Baldur and Valkyrie, but ALL servers. Thanks.

  73. Delay in Valkyrie server is still here and it got much worse even after the so called emergency maintenance last night. It was fixed for like, 20 minutes this morning (i’m guessing it will be fixed for those who first enter the game after the maintenance, but eventually this will subside. It didn’t even patch though:\) then the delay effect bounced right back.

    No announcements about this have been made by LU and Gravity so far. PLEASE UPDATE YOUR COSTUMERS ON WHAT IS HAPPENING. Thank you.
