Awesomeness and Jesus

Last Saturday, my girlfriend and I went to Greenhills Promenade to spend a well-deserved rest day. We’ve both had very long weeks and it was good to finally get a chance to unwind and de-stress. It was really one of those “thank God for weekends” moments in life. Anyway, we first watched Kung-Fu Panda around 3:00PM and this movie actually took me by surprise. I wasn’t really expecting a lot from it but it simply blew me away with sheer “awesomeness”, hehe!

The fight scenes were kick-ass and the script was spot on getting the crowd in the theatre laughing countless times in the movie. Whoever cast Jack Black as Po was definitely on the money. If you want to watch a feel-good movie that has loads of laughter and anime-like fight scenes, then this is it! I really recommend this to all of you. Watch it - either DVD or movie, but please watch it. :)

Next, you’re probably wondering why the title of this post is “Awesomeness and Jesus”. Awesomeness refers to the Kung-Fu Panda movie which is actually one of their slogans. Jesus, on the other hand, refers to Aslan in the second movie that we watched that day - Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian. If you want to know why I compare Aslan to Jesus then please head on over to my personal blog.

Narnia’s second movie was a bit dragging at the start. There were several scenes which were really too long but over-all I found the movie more spiritually satisfying than entertaining. Compared to the first movie, this one has a darker theme and older people will relate more to the film than the younger market which was captivated by the first movie.

Over-all I had a really good weekend. I hope you guys are also taking this chance to relax, unwind, and recharge. Cheers!
