I wasn’t able to do Anime Reviews last week mainly because most of the episodes of the various animes I’ve been watching were postponed or they just sucked. For today, I’m doing episodes 141-142 of Bleach. It’s been a while since I bashed Ichigo and the gang so this should be fun! Episode 140 conlcuded the matches between the Arancar Espada and the Shinigami advanced guard. Hitsugaya was able to defeat Luppi and Grimjow was almost wasted by Vaizard Hirako. Episode 140 ended with Ulquiorra cornering Orihime.

Please take note that there are spoilers when I do anime reviews. If you haven’t watched episode 141-142, then don’t take the jump. However, if you want to join in on the discussion, then feel free to read on.

Episode 141 was all about Orihime. The episode focused on developing her character futher and we even see that she finally confesses that she’s in love with Ichigo. Though there weren’t any battle scenes, episode 141 was worth the wait and we see a more emotional side to Bleach. Ulquiorra gave Orihime the chance to say goodbye to one person. Her obvious choice was Ichigo and she does her best as well to heal him of his wounds. Ichigo really got his ass handed to him by Grimjow in the previous episode. After that, she goes to Hueco Mundo and we don’t know what happens from that point.

In Episode 142, the Captain Commander lays the smack down on the advanced guard stationed in Earth. He orders Hitsugaya and the others to return to Soul Society pending a massive battle with the Arancar. Prior to that, Ukitake reveals that Orihime was missing and this obviously ticks off Ichigo. Rukia assumes that Soul Society has deserted Orihime, and Captain Commander confirms this. To make sure that the Shinigami go back to Soul Society, Captain Commander orders Zaraki and Byakuya to escort them back.

Ichigo goes to Urahara for help. This is the surprising part. Apparently Chad and Ishida want to go with Ichigo to Hueco Mundo to save Orihime. This is a good twist because Chad and Ishida really need to be developed more. It’s good to see that the makers of Bleach gave some attention to these two characters instead of just focusing on the various Shinigami captains. Episode 142 ends with the three friends waiting for Urahara to send them to Hueco Mundo.

Personally I liked the last two episodes of Bleach despite the lack of fight scenes. Episode 141 was a little too dramatic for me but Episode 142 was really good in setting up the plot. I really can’t wait for next week when we see Ichigo, Ishida, and Chad go to Hueco Mundo!

It’s a good thing they’re putting little fillers in the episodes. Para hindi masyadong mabilis yung takbo ng story. I can’t wait to see the espadas in action. Also, Aizen’s bankai.

@Mau: Same here! I can’t wait to see Aizen in action. His technique reminds me of Itachi’s Sharingan though. Mystic shiat. :heh:

Vizard is the right spelling right? Why is it posted as Vaizard? I want the whole Vizard fight against Arrancars or Ichigo and Ishida’s father fighting.

Who’s Nell? Sorry haven’t been reading the Bleach Manga. :heh: By the way, wrong spelling ako. Vizard ata dapat hindi Vaizard, hehe.

Personally, I think the flow of the story is really slowing down. I did not enjoy the recent episodes as much as I did with the pre-Bountou episodes. A friend of mine also said that the manga wasn’t as good anymore, too.

Anyway, I’m hoping the next episodes won’t be as boring.

Opinion ko lang po yan ha? [=
