Alodia - Pinoy Otaku Princess?
Alodia, one of the most popular anime and pop icons in the Philippines, did an autograph signing and also hosted the Cosplay Competition at the recent Toy Con ‘08. I was sitting in the LU booth when I saw a huge crowd gathering just across us. I initially thought that Marian Rivera arrived already since she was scheduled to drop by. But it wasn’t Marian - it was Alodia. I was really surprised at how the anime fans, local media, and generally everyone in the Megatrade Hall, reacted to her arrival. She was literally mobbed during her initial photo opt and I can’t help but say that she’s done an exceptional job of building her personal brand. I have to agree with Mike Abundo on this - she’s slowly coming out of her cocoon and she really is one of the princesses of the local otaku community in the country.

One thing’s for sure - great things await for Alodia. If she really grabs this opportunity and pours all of her effort into this, she can make it really big as an international otaku princess. I don’t think she can make it if she’ll try to cross over to doing local movies and shows with ABS-CBN or GMA TV. Good luck to her and I hope she’ll make our country proud when that day comes.

You’re right, Carlo. Philippine TV does not know how to address niches. They’d just waste Alodia on mainstream interests.

Definitely a no-no to doing it with local entertainment industry. Not unless there is someone who understands the 2.0 world within the industry and someone who can make a change and make the top-heads listen.
Until then, she’s better doing it the Community way. More powerful.

Sir wauks may problem ata ung 75 premium order of odin , ang pinagtataka ko bakit wala +50% experience nag topup ako ng 75 sa premium order of odin, tapos chineck ko ung mylevel up ko nabawasan talaga ng 75 kc ang natitira sa top up ko is 30 then ganun di sya gumagana tapos ang nakalagay dun po 7 days unused??? kakaload ko lang po yesterday around 4-5pm help naman po..T_T
