11.2 Veins MVP Upgrade: More Ruthless and Devastating!

Our Product Development Department has been busy testing the latest patch for Philippine Ragnarok Online, Episode 11.2: Veins. One of the most noticeable updates for this patch is how Gravity upgraded and buffed the MVP’s. The boss monsters are now much more stronger and 2-man parties won’t be able to take Baphomet anymore. Hey - don’t take my word for it. We summoned a Baphomet in Sakray and it took the people in Prontera almost an hour just to kill the big goat.

Why are they more kick ass? MVP’s now have new powerful skills and better defense against the Acid Bombs of Biochemists. Find out more after the jump.

NEW MVP SKILLS

Here are the all new skills of MVP’s:

Earthquake: Damage all players within a specific range with a triple strike attack. This damage is distributed among all players within the skill’s range: players will receive less damage if there are more of them affected by the Earthquake.

Hell Judgment: Damage and curse all players within the monster’s screen.

Pulse Strike: Damage all players in a 15 x 15 cell around the boss monster, and push them 7 cells away.

Fire Breath: Inflict fire damage on all players in a 9 x 14 cell area in front of the attacking monster.

Dragon Fear: Cast Stun, Confusion, Silence, or Bleed randomly on players in a range around the attacking Boss monster.

Banishment: Simultaneous attack and teleport the targeted player away.

Among all the sklils listed above, Earthquake is one of the most annoying. Around 30 people tried to attack Ifrit in Sakray but the skill was still powerful enough to wipe them all out. One has to wonder how many people will be needed to take that fiery demon down. Dragon Fear is also annoying since you can’t really have protection against all of the status ailments caused by that certain skill. There are more skills that MVP’s use that aren’t listed above. Pheeroni can do an area-effect Stone Curse skill and Stormy Knight has a more stronger version of the Frost Joke skill.

ACID BOMB DEFENSE

The current MVP scene these days is dominated by Biochemists spamming Acid Bombs. The AB Skill is effective because MVP’s have high VIT thus making AB very potent. For Veins, the VIT stat of MVP’s were reduced significantly while their HP was doubled and for some monsters, tripled!

With this new update, the “MVP King” Title will be given back to Champions and Snipers.

  13. Increasing “defense” by reducing “VIT”. This begs some thoughts:

    - Contradiction. Did you believe the official basic guide that said vit increased your defense? Surprise side-effect! You lost! :-D

    - Effort in vain. Have you a high level character with high vit screwed by AB? Sorry, no vit stat “fix” for you. Delete and start again. Can’t play much? Some more years of fun for you! :-D

    Bear in mind that this has some relation with World of Warcraft sucess. (hint: gratuitous punishment of players)

Kung ang bot lang paginteresan mo, marami Ragnarok online sa buong mundo…. kaya di kaya anti-bot program ng gravity dahil may sources sila sa ibang bansa especially South Korea na doon nagumpisa… For example.. may anti-bot implementation yun nasa Singapore RO, hahanap ang bot na pangkontra mula naman sa ibang RO na nakatawid sa system nila ito. Palibhasa, dahil iba-iba yun worldwide distributors ng Gravity sa RO, doon naguumpisa yun weakness ng RO. Ang weakness ng RO ay lack of coordination sa lahat ng worldwide distributors. Kung matibay yun bond ng mga ito, mas madali yun pagharang sa third-party. At magsasara yun mga bot dahil well coordinated na lahat ng Ragnarok Online sa buong mundo. Sana sa mga third party users, please stop from using them as early as possible at huli na lahat… Banned kayo din.


  15. Pero personal opinion lang po ito.. Kung may naoffend, pasensya na po… kahit sa owner ng blog na ito, Wauks. Level-up Games must be coordinate with other Ragnarok online distributors for a stronger encrypted anti-third party system. Pwede sana iasa sa Gravity, pero Gravity lang ba gagawa… kaya yun anti-bot system failed sa Valkyrie at Valhalla dahil sa Gravity lang gumawa. Walang coordination mula sa international RO distributors, kaya madali natatapos yun anti-bot system. Gravity umaasa sa Japan sa Anti-bot system pero failed dahil may nakalusot. Sana lahat ng countries involved ng Ragnarok Online tumulong para sa stronger anti-third party protection program.


  16. Sana Level-up Games at ibang Ragnarok distributors gave parts of anti-3rd party prevention system’s codes based on their GM’s experience.

    For example: May code yun Pilipinas doon, then yun code ng Malaysia at Singapore, tapos yun Japan, Thailand, Indonesia, Europe, Russia, IRO at KRO’s system. then combining all of the codes… tapos Gravity yun final code.

    Imbes na ibanned yun characters, give them chance na reason… banned a player without reason of cause is a violation of rules outside Ragnarok Online. At kung nahuli naman, sana iretain nila yun levels, dahil EXP modifiers are rare na because of this.

    Pag nagtagumpay yun improved anti-bot system, sana bumalik yun EXP modifiers na mataas pa kaysa mga event. Patch ninyo lagi yun system para yun third party, still firewalled and detected. Wish ko lang, kung nabasa lang ni Sir Wauks ito, umpisahan niya ito at makipagusap sa counterpart niya sa ibang bansa bukod sa Korea. Reprogram ninyo yun Gameguard.

    Sana bago mag-episode 13 sa Korea, nagawa na ito. Sa mga 3rd party, gumawa na kayo ng paaran.

    imposible na yatang masolusyunan ang bot. think about this, technology grows everyday. kung may solusyon na ang gravity, may bagong ilalabas ang bot para kontrahin yan. sa valk at sa valhalla, dapat i-ban yung botters, kasi di pa yun masyadong bot infested servers. pag sa comm servers mo ginawan ng solusyon ang bot, babagsak ang pRO. comm servers are already runned by these third party programs, magsasara ang pRO kung aalisin mo ang bot dun.

    Almost 5 years ng may bot, kaya naman nilang malinis ang RO pero di lang nila ginagawa. Pati dupe andyan din, feeling ko may inside job ata mga dupers eh. Hanapin nyu ung thread sa RB sa Midgard Congress, dun na nagsabi ang duper na kumikita siya P150,000 a month sa duping.

    Oh really?? bket di nyo ausin ang valk server? naka focus keo sa mga patch patch eh mismong game di nyo maaus.. tpos ssbhin nyo Busy keo sa pag test!! nkkawalang gana n kaya mag laro sa valk.. ok lang sa palvl ung bug eh.. pero ultimo siege.. un na nga lang libangan nmin ang mag siege tpos bug parin.. why not disable ur anti bot script during WOE time.. 2-3hrs of disable will not hurt LU dba?? khit WOE time lang pang pakunswelo lang sa delay system nyo.. PLEASE!!!


  30. there are sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo many complains, rants etc etc about the services but there are few problems that were solved. i really like what bRO player said in the previous topics… LU dealing with new patches/features = more money ; LU dealing with problems of players = no/less money

    naiiyak na ko sa valk… pakiramdam ko ginagatasan lang ako ,,,, sobrang tagal komonek tapos pag lilipat sa ibang map dc pa amf naman ang SAKIT NA NG PUSO KO, pakisabi sa level up na… please wag silang ganyan do their jobs hindi dapat ganyan ka tgal ng problem or bug ng isang server…. x2 item mall sale.. pfft it doesnt worth anything… dahil uber delay.. pakisabi lang po sir wauks na ayusin tlga nila.. kasi BUMABABA TINGIN NAMIN SA LEVEL UP, compare sa service ng bRO, iRO, kRO damn… wala tlga… sobrang bagal ng pag solve sa problem ..haiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiizzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz naiiyak nalang ako

    Is this reply some kind of joke? A GM has to be present on the spot while the offending player is in the act of kill stealing. I don’t even think GMS roam around every map of RO. I has 3 screenshots showing how the offending player has done his offense and the CS reply states that a GM should see the act of kill stealing to be able to penalize the offender. This reply sucks. It’s like CS is saying the rules shouldn’t be obeyed.


  40. this is why sakray is much more fun than other servers. not much botters therefore the servers are much more free.

    first hand testing of new stuff. and player skill really counts in sakray so that the “nasa gamit ang lakas” mentality is thrown out of the window.

    still for me the most annoying is banishment. having your tank disappear is annoying.
