Apple just announced a major refresh of their iPod products. There’s a new and improved version of the iPod Touch, iPod Nano, and the iPod Shuffle. The biggest improvements are definitely with the Touch and the Nano. The iPod Touch is literally the iPhone 4 without the phone but still with the camera. It has the Retina Display, can record up to 720p HD video, take photos, FaceTime, uses the same Apple A4 chip, and the gyroscope. The 8GB model will cost $229, 32GB $299, and the 64GB $399.

EA and Bioware recently announced Dragon Age 2 Destiny via a cinematic trailer. It’s set to be released March 8, 2011 (aww man) for the PS3, XBOX360, and PC. Undoubtedly this is one of the PS3 games that I will immediately buy once it becomes available on the market. Here’s the trailer:

If I were to write a dictionary I would write PLDT Broadband DSL under the term “EPIC FAIL”. They got me so infuriated yesterday to the point that I almost threw the telephone unit to the grill that we were using to cook Chicken for dinner. You want to know what they did? They force downgraded my speed by half but I pay the same monthly fees, made me go to their branch several times, and they want to charge me pre-termination if I pulled out with them. I know I used to work for a company that was owned by PLDT but this is just insanity! The complete nightmare explained after the break. Continue reading →
I found this nifty website which will automatically generate a signature for you containing your profile stats on StarCraft 2. It’s a free tool so be sure to try it out, especially if you’re into multiplayer and your “stat-conscious”. Here’s mine:
I played StarCraft 2 multiplayer this evening using a Sun broadband 3G internet connection and I was really surprised with the results. There was no lag whatsoever and I was able to play and even win 2 games! It’s amazing that a pretty low level internet connection can hold on to full games. The first game I had was with a Zerg player and it lasted less than 20 minutes. The second game was with a Terran who bunked in so it took more than 30 minutes to finish. I never got disconnected even once. So… good job Sun broadband and Blizzard!
I’ve been playing StarCraft 2 versus computer AI on Very Hard Mode for the past few days to figure out StarCraft 2 Protoss multiplayer strategies. Playing the AI at any level lower than that is too easy. You can literally just rush the AI’s base with 5-6 zealots early on and that will guarantee you a win. At Very Hard, it’s a totally different ball game. As most of you will find out when you start playing against AI and multiplayer, the Protoss is very prone to rushes, especially when you’re up against Terrans and they hit you hard with Marines and Marauders early in the game. There are several ways you can deal with this. Details after the break. Continue reading →
I finished the campaign mode of StarCraft 2 last night. I was a bit disappointed because it was actually quite short. I mean I’ve been waiting for this game for almost a decade and I was expecting to play for at least 2-3 weeks for the campaigns. Part of the reason why I’m a bit frustrated is because the campaign mode is awesome and I just wanted more, haha! Seriously, Blizzard did pretty well with the story. I loved how they were able to bring most of the characters full circle, especially with Raynor.

Finally got my copy of StarCraft 2 and got a few hours of gaming this evening. Over-all I’m having a blast with it. It’s pretty obvious that Blizzard really thought this game out to make sure that the experience would be something that both hardcore and casual gamers would enjoy. One of the things I appreciated the most was that Blizzard made the game playable on even low-specced computers. Imagine I can actually play the game quite smoothly on my Macbook Air! That’s just amazing. This is the first game that I can enjoy on this machine, haha! That’s saying a lot! A few more notes after the break. Continue reading →
I dropped by my favorite Data Blitz branch this morning at the Podium Mall in Ortigas to get my copy of StarCraft 2. I was there really early around 11AM and I was surprised when the saleslady told me that a lot of people already came before me and bought their copies as well. Coolness, haha! Anyway, if you want to get a copy, I strongly suggest you call Data Blitz branches first before going to the store. I saw on Twitter that several branches are already out of stock so it’s better if you don’t waste a trip going to the mall. I’ll be playing the game tonight and I’ll be posting initial reviews then. For now I have to work, lol. Cheers!
